History

Applying cooperative principles, we create social enterprises that promote solidarity and a more inclusive economy, enabling individuals to make positive contributions to their own and future generations' prosperity and well-being.

  • Founded November 2019 (as Africa Social and Solidarity Economy Organization)

  • 2020: Expanded to 17 Africa Countries, recruiting 311 Cooperatives and SSE Professionals)2021: Held first Annual Convention and Assembly in Kinshasa, DRC (attracting 600 participants from 14 African countries)

  • 2022: Held Second Annual Convention in Kigali, Rwanda (rebranded to Africa Co-operative Consortium, AFRICOOP).

  • 2023: Rebranded the Organization Structure to accommodate the Global Community

  • Held Third Annual Convention in Kigali Rwanda (refocused its mandate to align with the Global Cooperative and SSE agenda).
